Storm and Flood Assistance
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for people in the ACT.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Canberra.
The ACT State Emergency Services recommends you:
Move your car under cover and away from trees;
Secure or put away loose items;
Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines;
Stay indoors away from windows;
Never drive, walk or ride through floodwater.
