ADVICE - Grassfire – Mt Ainslie, Majura ACT

Firefighters have successfully contained a bushfire burning on the western side of Mt Ainslie, Majura ACT.
 
Crews from the ACT Rural Fire Service, ACT Fire & Rescue, and two water bombing helicopters worked together to gain control of the fire shortly before 5 PM Sunday.
 
The fire burned an area of approximately 2 hectares. The cause has not yet been determined.
 
Crews will remain on the scene into the evening until the fire is completely extinguished. Some smoke may be visible in the area.

ADVICE - A bushfire has started on Mt Ainslie, Majura ACT.
 
Current situation:
Firefighters from the ACT Rural Fire Service & ACT Fire & Rescue and two aerial appliances are working to contain a bushfire on the western side of Mt Ainslie.
 
The fire is currently less than 1 hectare in size.
 
No properties are under threat at this time. People in the area may be affected by smoke, which could reduce visibility and air quality.
 
Mt Ainslie lookout off Mount Ainslie Drive is closed at this time.
