Approximately 150 people have been evacuated from the Mode 3 apartments on Lonsdale Street, Braddon, following a fire in a restaurant on the ground floor of the building.
The fire was contained to the restaurant by ACT Fire & Rescue.
Fire crews were alerted to the emergency by the activation of an automatic fire alarm.
Three fire pumpers, a breathing apparatus support vehicle, the Bronto aerial appliance vehicle, and two command vehicles are currently on scene.
Fire crews are ventilating the affected area and will conduct atmospheric monitoring before the building can be occupied.
No injuries have been reported.
