Firefighters have closed off a busy road at Mawson this morning while they deal with a gas leak.
ACT Fire & Rescue was called to the leak at the Woolworths Petrol outlet on Mawson Place at 10:53am.
Fire crews arrived a short time later and quickly evacuated the affected area and closed the road as a precaution.
The leak has been located and shut off. Firefighters are now searching nearby drains to ensure all atmospheric readings are free from any residual gas before declaring the area safe.
