Storm and Flood Assistance
The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has received 10 calls for help as a result of strong winds tonight.
The majority of the calls have come from the north side of the city for fallen trees and branches which are being responded to by ACTSES units and ACT Fire & Rescue firefighters.
No serious damage has been reported at this stage.
Wind gusts of 100km per hour have been recorded with the Bureau of Meteorology issuing a severe weather warning forecasting further wind gusts of up to 75km per hour tonight.
Residents who need because of damage from the winds can call the ACTSES on 132 500.
