ACT Fire & Rescue are still on scene at a fire that started in a metal garage at a Wanniassa residential property late this afternoon. The fire has now been completely extinguished.
While Fire-fighters were assessing the structure three Acetylene (gas) cylinders were discovered which could pose a threat of exploding if over heated.
An exclusion zone of 50 meters has been established around the property while ACT Fire & Rescue monitor the temperature of the cylinders.
As a precaution five neighboring properties have been evacuated. A total of 13 people have moved to a safer area. There are nil health risks present at this time.
Update to follow.
