9:55pm Friday 16 September 2011 - Update 24 -Mitchell factory fire extinguished

The ACT Fire Brigade has now extinguished the fire about 22 hours after it started.

Firefighters will remain on scene overnight to ensure there are no flare ups.

The recovery phase of the operation will commence in the morning.

The Mitchell exclusion zone around the fire site will remain in place for the weekend.
